Seven Surprising Places You're Using Copywriting (And You Probably Don't Realize It)

When you hear the word "copywriting" do you immediately think of long sales pages, squeeze pages, and unwanted bulk mail?

You're not alone in that thinking, but the fact is, copywriting is more than just sales messages. In fact, as an online business owner, most of the content you produce could be called copywriting at least in some sense. After all, if you're creating content with the ultimate goal of selling something, that is by definition copywriting.

1-Facebook

Sure we all like to hang out on Facebook and chat with friends, catch up on the latest funny videos, and enjoy a mindless "quiz" or two. But for coaches, Facebook is much more than that. It's a place to connect with potential clients, and that means that when you're sharing your latest blog post or program with your business friends, you have to keep good copywriting in mind.

2-LinkedIn Profile

What makes you stand out from the other coaches in your niche? Your LinkedIn profile is where you share what makes you the best person to solve your ideal client's problems. It's where you shout about your credentials and let your ego run the show. Think of your LinkedIn profile like a resume, and be sure to list your most impressive credentials.

3-About Page

Here's your chance to have some fun while blowing your own horn. It's important to know that the about page is often the most visited page on a website, so it's a critical piece of your overall brand and message. The purpose of your about page is to entice people to want to learn more about your services, so be sure to include a call to action on the page.

4-Blog Posts

All blog posts have a job to do. Maybe they're meant to lead your reader to a sales page. Perhaps you're asking for readers to subscribe to your mailing list. Maybe your blog post is designed to start a conversation. Or maybe it's just sharing great content and inviting readers to learn more by clicking on related posts. Whatever the job, it's copywriting that entices your reader to take that next action.

5-Twitter

One hundred and forty characters is precious little space for creating compelling content, yet that's exactly what you must do if you hope to use Twitter as part of your overall marketing strategy. Think of tweets like email subject lines, and craft them to convey as much information as possible while still enticing readers to take action.

6-Graphics

If you are using graphics for posts on social media platforms (think Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest), you should be conscious of the copywriting there also. It's just called "short copy" and it's still important to make it effective, especially because it's even shorter than a tweet. And of course you may have other copy that goes along with the graphic.

7-Email

Whether you're sending an email about a new product or service or simply letting readers know you have a new blog post up, your email definitely qualifies as copywriting. In fact, even the personal emails you send to prospective clients contain what we would call copywriting.

The fact is, copywriting is everywhere in your business, from your sales pages to your invoices. Whenever you ask a reader to take some action, you're writing copy, and the more comfortable with the idea of it, the better (and more natural) you'll become.

What Is Your Online Social Media Presence?

Your online presence is one of the most important ways to market your business to the world. It honestly doesn't matter whether you have a strictly online business or a bricks and mortar business, using social media is a great way to get the word out about your business and to establish your identity online.

Ensure that Your Brand Matches Throughout

While each social media network has its own personality, your brand is always your brand. You should keep your brand the same, but adjust it slightly to fit in with the personality of the platform. But don't change it too much because you want your audience to recognize you and interact with you.

Keep Your Profile Updated and Complete

Social media networks are always changing so a complete profile today will be incomplete tomorrow. Keep it up-to-date by checking it often, updating the things you have changed, and adding in information as the platform creates new ways for you to share.

Be Consistent with Your Posts

One of the keys to making social media work for you to build your online presence, is putting up regular posts and updates. For example, if you have a blog post you want to share, set it up to share twice in the day instead of only once.

Become an Expert on One or Two Platforms

You can't be everyplace and do it well, so choose one or two platforms where your audience likes to hang out, and become an expert at those systems. You'll do yourself a huge favor. Take it easy and become an expert of one or two.

Develop Content Specific for Each Platform

You don't want to rehash the exact same content in the exact same words on each social media network. For example, when you share a blog post you wrote promoting your widget, you want to share it with a special blurb for each different network.

Engage with Others

Don't forget to talk to people on each network. Answer questions, share your knowledge, and interact and engage with them. Social media is supposed to be social. Automation is fine, but you do need to answer people and talk to people in real time, too.

Share Other People's Updates

When someone shares something important that your audience will find interesting, share it. The people you share and congratulate and interact with will do the same for you. Plus, it's another form of content that can help establish expertise.

Join Groups

Most social media networks right now have some forms of groups that you can join. Even Pinterest has group pin boards that you can join. Joining these, then interacting with the people, is a great way to network and get known better.

Although everything about Facebook isn't perfect, it's still the biggest social network and they want you to succeed using their advertising platform. This just makes sense. If you achieve your business goals while spending money on Facebook advertising, you're likely to use that marketing practice again in the future. How To Scale Content Creation

Scaling content creation enables you to get the most out of the content that you spend money, time and resources on. Plus, it allows you to pad that with other people's content to bring to your audience a plethora of content that adds value to them and helps them to make purchase decisions.

Use Curated Content
Collect content that you believe your audience will be interested that you did not write. Include content that is about your niche and other topics you feel that your target audience will find educational and valuable.

Share curated content
Be sure to share this content in order to keep your audience engaged and informed. The great thing about curated content is that it enables you to participate in discussions across the web. It adds interest of your brand by those authors and allows you to impress your audience.

Know your niche
To properly curate content it's important that you understand your own brand and niche enough to choose the right content to curate. Plus, it's important to always give the right attributions and credit to the original author.

Repost Original Content
It costs a lot of money, time and effort to create content for your niche. You need content for everything, and every platform and every form, and you need it on a regular basis. If you're not repurposing and reusing some of your content, you're not getting the most out of your investment.

Share more than once
Sharing new content on social media needs to be done more than once to ensure it gets maximum views. With the way social media works, on a feed system it is likely only a very small percentage of followers, or likes, will see the share more than once, or even once.

Use older content
Alternatively, if an issue comes up that the old content piece answers then go ahead and share it again, even if it's months old. It's also okay to update the content first to be more relevant if any part of the original piece is out of date. As long as the content is relevant, original, and makes sense at that time, share away.

Use Multiple Platforms
You probably are part of many different online communities and networks - Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook groups, forums, groups and so forth. Make sure to take advantage of this fact. If you find a fresh way to share the same content throughout all these platforms then you can share the same content.

Edit for network personality
The important thing to do here is to be sure to craft each message a little differently for each network. For example, you might want to share the content in a more visual way on Pinterest than you do on Twitter.

Use different formats
A blog post becomes a slide share, becomes a video for YouTube, and becomes a podcast for iTunes. It really is that simple to reuse your content. After all, the format doesn't change the research you've already done. You're just changing the format and sometimes the mood of the research to participate on multiple platforms.

When you write and manage your content correctly, it will make your life easier and your business grow. To discover how the most successful online entrepreneurs plan, create and deliver great content, download my free checklist, The 5 Step Content Strategy, at https://jonallo.com/contentplan

5 Effective Ways to Increase Traffic to Your Website or Blog

Getting traffic or visitors to your website, blog or sales funnel is arguably one of the most important steps in running a successful online business, while this is critical what is more important is getting visitors who are interested in your product. Below are proven strategies to get targeted visitors to your site so that you can begin to receive money from your business or grow your existing business.

1. Create a Facebook page. Facebook pages are easy to set up and can be set up in less than 30 minutes, just chose a name that represents your business and I would suggest buy a domain name with the same name so you can have a consistent presence throughout the internet. Don't be afraid if you have never done any of this before just email us and we will steer you in the right direction free of cost

2. Run a likes campaign: If you have a few dollars to spare advertise your facebook page for about 5 to 7 days, with a daily budget of 1 to 5 dollars. You can always advertise it for longer but this should allow you to have an audience in one location that you can control so you can start driving traffic to your offers on your blog, website or sales funnel.

3. Create a private group for the page: A private Facebook group allows persons to ask questions and interact with you and others without everyone in their friends list knowing, this is great especially if someone wants to ask a question that may be sensitive, it gives participants the confidence to engage much freer. When you would have created your group run a contest and give away a prize maybe a product you are selling to the person who invites the most persons to the group. Now, this strategy would build your group. When you have a group set up and running you can share offers to the members and because they are already interested they will go over to your site, blog or store and likely buy your product. And remember the more targeted traffic you have going to your product, the more potential you have to make more sales.

4. Post on Pinterest: ensure you leave your website in the bio. Pinterest is all about great pictures that tell a story, so make your post informative with good quality pictures and encourage viewers to check the site out. Also, follow as many people as you can in the area you are selling, plus follow those who you think can benefit from your product. The more people you follow the more will follow you back and eventually more people will click through to your site, increasing the number of people who visit your website, blog, sales funnel or online store.

5. Run solo ads these are pretty good in getting traffic to your website or product. Here you can buy any amount of visitors to your site for a small fee. The trick though is to have a site that converts, meaning that when someone is sent to it, the interface is simple and the sales copy effective so that persons are compelled to buy from you or leave their email, whichever you desire.

Solo ads sites are found throughout the internet for more info on solo ads or anything mentioned in the article contact Way Charles at the email provided.

How to Use Facebook Live for Marketing

There are so many ways to use Facebook Live to market your business. As you read these ideas, it's likely you'll think of even more ways. When you do think of ideas, write them down in a file so that you can try them out.

Host a Customer Contest

Go live and then invite your customers to go live in your group or on your page. Tell them you want to hear about how they use your product or service, and what a difference it's made for them in their lives or business. This is a great way to get testimonials that can even go viral. Whichever live gets the most likes, wins.

Host a Round Table with a Panel of Experts

Bring in some experts about your topic and host a round table. Allow viewers to submit questions in advance so that even those who watch the recorded version can get their question in. Then let the panel offer their advice on the question. You can have many questions or just one question, weekly or monthly.

Host an Open Question Hour

You can go live at any moment and let people ask questions while you're live. You can give your people a warning via email and announcement or by scheduling the Facebook Live, but you can also do them last minute.

Create Private Content for Your Group

An effective way to use Facebook Live is to create content only for your private group. Announce it on your page, market it through your email lists, and blog - but require them to join the group or membership to get the content. You can even make this another income stream.

Share a Day in the Life

You get four hours to stream, so you can host a working session where you work live while everyone can watch. You can talk about what you're doing, share with them how you do what you do, share your screen, demo what you're doing and so forth during the live stream.

Host an Open Live Critique Hour

This will work for many different niches, marketing experts, content experts, logo designers, coaches, and so forth. Invite people to be in the hot seat and get critiqued for something that you can normally fix if they hire you.

Conduct Regular Training

You can train people how to do things via Facebook Live. It doesn't matter if it's knitting, creating spreadsheets, cutting hair, doing makeup, or cooking. Think about the things you know how to do that's relevant to your audience, and show them how to do it.

Facebook users watch 100 million hours of videos on FB every day. Live video streaming connects with your audience in a way that text, images and recorded video can't. For proven tips for successful live video marketing download my free checklist at https://jonallo.com/live-video

Do Facebook Ads Work For Small Businesses?

Facebook ads are inexpensive, effective, and something any small business owner should consider getting involved with. The reason you should be running Facebook ads, whether they are sponsored posts or other types of ads, is that they do work. Here's why.

People Use Facebook All Day Long

People use Facebook on PCs and on their mobile devices, and keep it with them all day long. They take Facebook with them to dinner and some people never turn it off. This is a real chance to connect with your audience that you cannot pass up.

They Are Relevant Due to Extreme Targeting

Facebook allows you to target your individual audience down to their interests and gender, and you can even provide email addresses for the exact people you want to target.

Easy to Include a Call To Action (CTA)

The tools that Facebook offers the people who want to run ads help to create compelling CTAs that your audience will be more likely to answer, whether it's as easy as liking your page or downloading your app.

It's Easy to Make Professional-Looking Ads

The tools that Facebook offers let you create professional Facebook ads without having the ability to make ads. They lead you through it with their system to make it simple, so you're more likely to repeat the process.

Easy to Include Great Value

You can easily include enough information in each ad that shows the value of your offering. With just a few clicks you'll have an awesome ad that your audience can see the value in.

They Offer Disruption with Significance

In many cases, people are blind to advertisements, but on Facebook the disruption is noticeable and your audience will want to check it out. This is due to the ability to target the ads so closely to your target audience.

They Are Simple to Create

The ads are easy to create and it gets easier all the time. As Facebook makes the ads work better for business owners, and easier to do with a click of a button, they become more relevant, more valuable, and more useful to you as a business owner.

Easy to Run A/B Tests

Due to the ability to duplicate an ad and then easily edit to change one part of the ad such as the title or the image, you can run ads simultaneously. You can even target different audiences to find out which works better.

Facebook ads work for a variety of reasons. However, they will only work if you plan them out and spend the time ensuring that you run relevant ads. They must be of value to your audience, grab the attention of the viewer and include a compelling call to action.

Facebook wants your business to succeed when using their social platform. This just makes sense. If you achieve your business goals while spending money on Facebook advertising, you're likely to use it again in the future.
