Simple Morning Routine For A Successful Day

Why do you need a morning routine?

A morning routine is, simply put, a combination of activities you do every morning. Like getting out of bed, brushing your teeth, getting dressed, making coffee etc. So pretty much every person has their own morning routine, whether they realise it or not. All these things you do first thing every morning condition your brain and set you up for your day. Either in a positive, energetic, productive way or in a less favourable ‘I’m late and I’m tired’ way.

So the question is not if you need a morning routine, but rather ‘How should your morning routine look like to set yourself up for a perfect day - with purpose and in line with your goals and dreams?

What should be part of your morning routine?

It has been reported again and again that certain habits, especially if done first thing in the morning, have a tremendous impact on your day. That’s why so many highly successful people, top performers and celebrities swear by their morning routine. Hal Elrod has taken all of these effective habits and combined them in one book - his bestseller The Miracle Morning. He calls them the S.A.V.E.R.S which is an acronym for:

S - Silence (e.g. praying, meditating, mindfulness exercises, deep breathing etc.)

A - Affirmations (e.g. saying your goals, top priorities or statements for self-confidence etc.)

V - Visualisation (visualising reaching your goals, short term and long term)

E - Exercise (e.g. yoga, walking, running, push-ups etc. anything to get your body moving)

R - Reading (something you want to learn about or that will help your self-development)

S - Scribing (journaling, e.g. things you are grateful for, learnings, challenges etc.)

Doing all of these 6 habits in the morning, even if it’s just for as little as 1 minute each, will help you start your day with energy, confidence and a positive mindset which will have a great impact on your whole day.

Hal Elrod typically recommends putting aside 1 hour for your whole morning routine, but it can be as long or as short as you want it to be. And let’s face it, as busy mums it can be very hard to carve out a whole hour for yourself, so I’d like to show you how I’ve adapted Hal’s morning routine to fit into my day and around my family’s needs.

My morning routine

Getting up - 5 minutes:
At 6:25am my alarm goes off. I have a daylight alarm (a Lumie body clock) to wake me up gently. And an alarm on my phone on the other side of the bedroom which forces me to get up and not hit the snooze button instead. I get up, make my bed, put on my running clothes, drink a glass of water, go to the loo, brush my teeth and splash cold water in my face to help me wake up and quietly sneak downstairs to start my morning practice.

Exercise - 5 minutes: I take out my yoga mat (I use the IUGA Pro which I absolutely love!) and start with a short yoga sequence (usually a few sun salutations) to stretch my body and get my blood flowing. After that I feel properly awake.

Silence - 15-20 minutes: Then I sit down on my yoga mat and medidate for 15 minutes. Sometimes it’s a bit more, sometimes a bit less. But I find that I usually come out of my meditation naturally after 15 - 20 minutes at the latest. I tried different meditation methods in the past - guided, unguided, using a mantra etc. But most of the times I prefer to just be still and empty my mind until I am in a deeply calm and relaxed state.

Scribing - 5 minutes: After my meditation I write out my goals in my journal and any ideas that popped into my head while meditating or anything else I want to bring on paper.

Affirmations & Visualisation - 10 minutes: Then I say my goals out aloud and visualise with my eyes closed how I feel when I have achieved them and the steps I need to take in order to get there. I focus on tasks I’m doing, people I’m interacting with and how I show up when working towards this goal - e.g. motivated, joyful, proactive, of service etc. I start the visualisation process with my daily goals - the 3 most important things I want to get done that day. And then I move on to my long term goals.

By then (about 40 minutes later) my son is awake. My husband takes care of him first thing in the morning so I can finish my morning routine. So at around 7:10am I take over so my partner can have some time for himself too, and I get the little one dressed and ready for nursery.

At 8 am I do the nursery run. It only takes us 5 minutes on the bike to get there. So at 8:15 am I’m back home.

Exercise & Reading - 15 minutes: Remember, I’m still in my running clothes I put on this morning. So I pop in my earbuds (I've been gifted these Soundcore Spirit Sports Earphones by my husband which are not too expensive and work great!) and go for a quick 10-15 minutes run whilst listening to an audiobook about a topic I want to learn about.

I’m back around 8:30 am, take a shower and get ready for work.

At 9 am I make myself a cup of tea, sit down at my desk and start work.

My evening routine

To make sure I get enough sleep and to be well rested for my morning routine and my day, my evening routine is actually equally as important as my morning routine. Even though it’s super short. This is how it goes:

I set myself a bedtime alarm and - same as in the morning - put my phone across the room so I have to get up. In this case from the comforts of my couch which can be a real struggle for me to abandon in order to go to bed. So at 9:30pm my bedtime alarm goes off, I get up and start to get myself ready for bed.

Scribing - 10 minutes: At 10pm I’m in bed, writing in my journal about how my day went. - My greatest successes, my learnings and the things I’m grateful for. I also write down the 3 most important tasks I want to get done on the next day.

If you want to find out more about the journal I'm using, I've done a whole blog post about it here: RETHiNK Planner Review: The Daily Planner to Help You Achieve Your Goals

By 10:30pm I’m asleep. :)

This daily routine, even though it’s divided over different times in my day to make it work with my family, really sets me up for success each day. Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t always work out as planned, depending on when my little one wakes up in the morning or if he gets up throughout the night when he is unwell. Or simply when my bedtime gets delayed for various reasons like having friends over for example. So I might have to cut it short on some days or even skip some parts. But it’s my ideal routine I’m striving for every day. And every time I manage to do it, or even just parts of it, I can definitely feel the difference it makes to my mood and productivity on that day. Basically, a day that starts with my morning routine is usually a very positive and successful day for me!

Do you have your own morning routine? If so, what does it include? If not, why don’t you try your own routine for a few mornings? I would love to hear how it goes for you and what difference it makes to your days. Let me know in the comments! :)

Using Pinterest For Product Promotion

Pinterest is built for product promotion, especially if your product is a physical product. However, it can work for digital products too. You just need to find a way to be super-visual regarding your digital products and how they help your audience.

Build Your Audience

If you want to sell on Pinterest, the best way to do that is to build your audience. Try to put up valuable content for your audience on a consistent basis. Incentivize them to follow you, engage, share and save your content.

Keep Track of the Calendar

Every day there is a holiday somewhere. Depending on who your audience is and what they like, you can use your calendar as a guide to when to promote something. For example, if your product is not really gift-giving material, you may want to promote right before or after a gift-giving holiday instead of during it.

Create a Theme

Another way to develop inviting pinboards is to consider creating a theme for every single promotion that you do. For example, if you sell digital self-help titles, you may want to promote one about love before Thanksgiving, and one about organization before spring-cleaning time. Themes help a lot with content creation. Work about 90 days in advance based on the calendar and you'll see real progress happening.

Remind People about What's Popular

If you already have some best-selling items, create a pinboard all about the best-selling items that you offer. This is a great way to ask buyers to share things about their purchase for a collaborative board.

Create Shop and Look Pins

When you have a business account, you have a lot of opportunities to create easier ways for your audience to shop. This feature puts a red dot on the items in your images that are available to buy, and visitors can click through and buy from there.

Add Rich Pins

Additionally, Pinterest offers rich pins to business accounts. These pins provide a way for you to show additional information to your viewer about the topic. You can use one of four types of rich pins including app, product, recipe, and article.

Promote Your Pins

You can also promote your pins, and this is a great thing to do if you're new. It's a good way to build your audience and get more views. It's not very expensive either. It's about the same price as Facebook Ads, which are also a very good deal.

Hire Influencers

Another way to ensure that your products are seen and purchased is to work with influencers. Remember, a good influencer doesn't have to have a huge audience. They just need a small audience of dedicated fans to be successful.

Pinterest has become a major player in the social media universe. With over 150 million active monthly users, Google is paying more attention to Pinterest, which means you can boost your search engine rankings and enjoy free, targeted traffic by hopping on board this social media super-brand. How To Scale Content Creation

Scaling content creation enables you to get the most out of the content that you spend money, time and resources on. Plus, it allows you to pad that with other people's content to bring to your audience a plethora of content that adds value to them and helps them to make purchase decisions.

Use Curated Content
Collect content that you believe your audience will be interested that you did not write. Include content that is about your niche and other topics you feel that your target audience will find educational and valuable.

Share curated content
Be sure to share this content in order to keep your audience engaged and informed. The great thing about curated content is that it enables you to participate in discussions across the web. It adds interest of your brand by those authors and allows you to impress your audience.

Know your niche
To properly curate content it's important that you understand your own brand and niche enough to choose the right content to curate. Plus, it's important to always give the right attributions and credit to the original author.

Repost Original Content
It costs a lot of money, time and effort to create content for your niche. You need content for everything, and every platform and every form, and you need it on a regular basis. If you're not repurposing and reusing some of your content, you're not getting the most out of your investment.

Share more than once
Sharing new content on social media needs to be done more than once to ensure it gets maximum views. With the way social media works, on a feed system it is likely only a very small percentage of followers, or likes, will see the share more than once, or even once.

Use older content
Alternatively, if an issue comes up that the old content piece answers then go ahead and share it again, even if it's months old. It's also okay to update the content first to be more relevant if any part of the original piece is out of date. As long as the content is relevant, original, and makes sense at that time, share away.

Use Multiple Platforms
You probably are part of many different online communities and networks - Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook groups, forums, groups and so forth. Make sure to take advantage of this fact. If you find a fresh way to share the same content throughout all these platforms then you can share the same content.

Edit for network personality
The important thing to do here is to be sure to craft each message a little differently for each network. For example, you might want to share the content in a more visual way on Pinterest than you do on Twitter.

Use different formats
A blog post becomes a slide share, becomes a video for YouTube, and becomes a podcast for iTunes. It really is that simple to reuse your content. After all, the format doesn't change the research you've already done. You're just changing the format and sometimes the mood of the research to participate on multiple platforms.

When you write and manage your content correctly, it will make your life easier and your business grow. To discover how the most successful online entrepreneurs plan, create and deliver great content, download my free checklist, The 5 Step Content Strategy, at https://jonallo.com/contentplan

How to Increase the Value of Your Business

There are many ways to boost your sales and grow your business, no matter your budget size. However, increasing the value of your business on a tight budget can be daunting. Because it is challenging to boost your sales while keeping advertising and marketing under control.

It's easy to open a business online and start selling. Hence, there are numerous of products online and so there are many competitors offering the same products and services you're offering.

The difference between the competitor's business and yours will determine how the customer perceives your value. You obviously want potential customers to see the immediate value you offer in all the different areas of your business.

Focus on the Value You Offer

Potential clients care about whether you can help them. Your marketing strategy should focus on clients' problems, as well as helping to solve the issues. For instance, if you're selling a weight loss product; focus on providing better health, feeling sexy, and increasing energy rather than the product. People like things that make them feel or look better.

Thus, all marketing efforts from email messages and social media engagement should focus on offering what clients want or need. You should focus on how your products or services solve customer problems. Providing valuable products to your clients will lead them to share these products with their friends and family, promoting your business. This will lead to more sales and it will increase the value of your business.

Use Different Methods to Reach Your Target Market

Not everyone on your email list follows you on Twitter or Facebook. Be where your customers are, whether it's on YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, or Facebook.

Integrate your content into different formats that will allow you to reach your clients across different social media platforms without duplicating the same stuff. For instance, you can turn a YouTube video into a how-to article for your website.

Share User-Generated Content

Consumers prefer to read product reviews before making crucial buying decisions. Highlighting reviews helps to ease any anxiety about taking a perceived risk. The more detailed reviews you have, the more trust you build and the more valuable your business and offers will seem.

These reviews are experiences and opinions from other buyers, and they lead a consumer to decide on whether to buy a product. Boost your sales and the value of your business by asking your customers to share their photos online. Sharing user-generated photos on your social media platforms will boost loyalty with current customers and it'll add credibility to your brand whenever potential clients visit your social media profiles.

If you have a limited budget, smart branding is perhaps the most inexpensive business growth tool you can create. Branding is important for small business owners as well as large ones. Importance of Followers and Fans on Social Media Platforms

In recent times, social media platforms have taken the market by storm. Not one or two, but there are several platforms where one can post their creative ideas like pictures and videos. Also one can follow various people there if one likes their content. Seeing that these platforms have millions and billions of users and out of the 70% of the users are regular ones, these spaces have turned into a great channel for marketing and advertising. However, it is not enough to just have great content one also will have to increase their fan following.

Who are fans and followers?

People who use a certain platform not only post their content, but also look for other people's content with whom they can connect. So when these people start following their favorite accounts religiously, they become a follower and a fan.

Just like marketing happens in the real world, one will need more fans and potential customers to follow them on social media so that they can be converted into customers. That is why it is seen that fans play the most crucial role In making or breaking an account and their creator's social media influence. These fans will only become loyal supporters, chain marketers, and customers for their followed people and business accounts.

Why followers and fans are so important?

Having a huge following on social media is important because:

  • Make the brand popular: one can use social media to promote their brand, whether it is any product, service or thought. Having a huge number of followers means they can reach out to their fans and establish their offering to them.

  • Create a community: many times it is not about just marketing or advertising, sometimes it is about reaching out to like-minded people. Social media can be a great platform for finding people like oneself and also it becomes easy to say what one wants and it will reach people easily.

  • Increase the influence: every brand or a social media influencer needs to spread their business and for that followers and fans are the best way to go about. Usually, these fans and followers only become marketers thus spreading the brand more effectively.

Why buy fans and followers?

Now that one has noticed how much followers and fans can affect one's social media presence, whether it is an individual or a business. Therefore, other than some of the organic ways one can also buy followers for their account. Some of the benefits of buying social media fans are:

  • One can grow their business instantly without having to wait for a longer period of time.

  • Followers attract followers, so if one has a strong number of followers on their profile this will show the popularity and effectiveness of one's products and thus will attract more followers.

  • Having more followers will influence people to visit one's website, thus increasing the website traffic.

  • Having more followers means more visibility and that means more customers, all this will lead to higher revenue.

  • A large number of followers will also make one look more credible and thus will give a boost to one account among other competitors.

Buying fans can be a very advantageous step for all social media people. Just like others, one can also buy tiktok fans from the tiktok star at very reasonable prices. This will help one in increasing their tiktok presence and thus make one's video go more viral.
