Using Pinterest For Product Promotion

Pinterest is built for product promotion, especially if your product is a physical product. However, it can work for digital products too. You just need to find a way to be super-visual regarding your digital products and how they help your audience.

Build Your Audience

If you want to sell on Pinterest, the best way to do that is to build your audience. Try to put up valuable content for your audience on a consistent basis. Incentivize them to follow you, engage, share and save your content.

Keep Track of the Calendar

Every day there is a holiday somewhere. Depending on who your audience is and what they like, you can use your calendar as a guide to when to promote something. For example, if your product is not really gift-giving material, you may want to promote right before or after a gift-giving holiday instead of during it.

Create a Theme

Another way to develop inviting pinboards is to consider creating a theme for every single promotion that you do. For example, if you sell digital self-help titles, you may want to promote one about love before Thanksgiving, and one about organization before spring-cleaning time. Themes help a lot with content creation. Work about 90 days in advance based on the calendar and you'll see real progress happening.

Remind People about What's Popular

If you already have some best-selling items, create a pinboard all about the best-selling items that you offer. This is a great way to ask buyers to share things about their purchase for a collaborative board.

Create Shop and Look Pins

When you have a business account, you have a lot of opportunities to create easier ways for your audience to shop. This feature puts a red dot on the items in your images that are available to buy, and visitors can click through and buy from there.

Add Rich Pins

Additionally, Pinterest offers rich pins to business accounts. These pins provide a way for you to show additional information to your viewer about the topic. You can use one of four types of rich pins including app, product, recipe, and article.

Promote Your Pins

You can also promote your pins, and this is a great thing to do if you're new. It's a good way to build your audience and get more views. It's not very expensive either. It's about the same price as Facebook Ads, which are also a very good deal.

Hire Influencers

Another way to ensure that your products are seen and purchased is to work with influencers. Remember, a good influencer doesn't have to have a huge audience. They just need a small audience of dedicated fans to be successful.

5 Tips To Profit From Pinterest Ads

Are you using Pinterest to promote your brand? If you are, you're tapping into over 250 million monthly active users. But are you certain that this image-based social media powerhouse it's helping to drive more traffic and profit?

Are you looking for ways to increase traffic to your site and help you generate more revenue? These five tips will help you generate more profit from this popular site.

1: Set SMART Goals

Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-limited goals. Start by figuring out what you want to achieve and when you want to achieve it.

For instance, do you want to increase your followers to 200 by the end of the quarter? Or do you want your Pinterest ad to generate at least 100 downloads by the end of the month? Being specific gives you a goal to achieve, and it helps you to focus on using the right Pinterest marketing tools. Also, it makes it easier to track your success.

2: Consistency

Remember, if you pin too little, people will lose interest in you. And, if you pin too much, you risk overwhelming your audience and they're likely to unfollow you. Pin at least 10-12 pins per day to appear frequently in your follower's search results and feeds.

Also, consider the time of day you're pinning. The peak time is between 8 and 11pm on weekends. These are great times to put out your pins and tweak later depending on the insights on Pinterest marketing tools.

3: Promotion

Don't stop your promotion at Pinterest. Promote your pins on other social media platforms to generate traffic and increase followers.

4: Re-Pinning

Re-pin others' pins to gain an audience and generate more revenue. Pinterest is a social platform, so one of the best ways to get people to re-pin your pins is by being active. Pin others' pins, especially those with a target audience similar to yours. They'll notice you and even follow your boards.

5: Create Contests and Sell Your Own Products

Do you want to sell your products on Pinterest? Then, create contests. These are popular and they'll help you earn money.

Most businesses use contests to get people to engage with their brand. So if you do them properly, you'll trigger people to think about and talk about your brand. But be aware that contests can also make people add pins they aren't interested in. Sometimes pins from contests can feel irrelevant and spammy if they are done wrong.

Pinterest for Business - Does It Make Sense For Your Niche?

A lot of people just assume that Pinterest does not make sense for your business. Specifically, if you are a man, you might just stay clear completely of Pinterest. Well, you might be making a big mistake.

When people think of Pinterest, odds are they are thinking of recipes, home decor or some type of arts and crafts. There's a lot more when it comes to Pinterest. There are pins and boards that cover a wide range of topics.

For example, think of a topic you would never think would be even considered. For example, let's take fantasy football. After doing a quick search on Pinterest for "fantasy football" you might be shocked to find out there is actually some fantasy football content out there. Most of it is geared toward fantasy football draft parties, but still, there is some content out there.

Now if you have an account on fantasy football do you want to spend a lot of time with Pinterest for business? Probably not, but this was just to make an example of the diversity of content that's on Pinterest.

Another example of something you might not expect to be on Pinterest is video gaming. For instance, you can find a great deal of content on Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation and more. A lot of it has to do with the art side of gaming and DIY projects to create cases for your systems and things like that but still, there are a lot of topics on Pinterest you can target, even if you have a video gaming blog.

So how do you know if your niche is something that makes sense for taking to Pinterest? Well, one way, obviously, is to search on their site and see what type of content exists on the platform already.

Another method is when you are typing search phrases on the Pinterest site, type slowly and see if the predictive text suggests related topics to finish your search. This serves as an indicator that shows people are actually searching for these words or phrases on there. If you get several different words to finish what you are typing that is a great sign that you are on the right track to targeting something people get on Pinterest for.

So what are you waiting for? Take action! Many people get thousands of page views to their website a day and all of it from Pinterest.

So you're ready to stop waiting around and take advantage of the massive Pinterest traffic out there?

Seven Surprising Places You're Using Copywriting (And You Probably Don't Realize It)

When you hear the word "copywriting" do you immediately think of long sales pages, squeeze pages, and unwanted bulk mail?

You're not alone in that thinking, but the fact is, copywriting is more than just sales messages. In fact, as an online business owner, most of the content you produce could be called copywriting at least in some sense. After all, if you're creating content with the ultimate goal of selling something, that is by definition copywriting.

1-Facebook

Sure we all like to hang out on Facebook and chat with friends, catch up on the latest funny videos, and enjoy a mindless "quiz" or two. But for coaches, Facebook is much more than that. It's a place to connect with potential clients, and that means that when you're sharing your latest blog post or program with your business friends, you have to keep good copywriting in mind.

2-LinkedIn Profile

What makes you stand out from the other coaches in your niche? Your LinkedIn profile is where you share what makes you the best person to solve your ideal client's problems. It's where you shout about your credentials and let your ego run the show. Think of your LinkedIn profile like a resume, and be sure to list your most impressive credentials.

3-About Page

Here's your chance to have some fun while blowing your own horn. It's important to know that the about page is often the most visited page on a website, so it's a critical piece of your overall brand and message. The purpose of your about page is to entice people to want to learn more about your services, so be sure to include a call to action on the page.

4-Blog Posts

All blog posts have a job to do. Maybe they're meant to lead your reader to a sales page. Perhaps you're asking for readers to subscribe to your mailing list. Maybe your blog post is designed to start a conversation. Or maybe it's just sharing great content and inviting readers to learn more by clicking on related posts. Whatever the job, it's copywriting that entices your reader to take that next action.

5-Twitter

One hundred and forty characters is precious little space for creating compelling content, yet that's exactly what you must do if you hope to use Twitter as part of your overall marketing strategy. Think of tweets like email subject lines, and craft them to convey as much information as possible while still enticing readers to take action.

6-Graphics

If you are using graphics for posts on social media platforms (think Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest), you should be conscious of the copywriting there also. It's just called "short copy" and it's still important to make it effective, especially because it's even shorter than a tweet. And of course you may have other copy that goes along with the graphic.

7-Email

Whether you're sending an email about a new product or service or simply letting readers know you have a new blog post up, your email definitely qualifies as copywriting. In fact, even the personal emails you send to prospective clients contain what we would call copywriting.

The fact is, copywriting is everywhere in your business, from your sales pages to your invoices. Whenever you ask a reader to take some action, you're writing copy, and the more comfortable with the idea of it, the better (and more natural) you'll become.

What Is Your Online Social Media Presence?

Your online presence is one of the most important ways to market your business to the world. It honestly doesn't matter whether you have a strictly online business or a bricks and mortar business, using social media is a great way to get the word out about your business and to establish your identity online.

Ensure that Your Brand Matches Throughout

While each social media network has its own personality, your brand is always your brand. You should keep your brand the same, but adjust it slightly to fit in with the personality of the platform. But don't change it too much because you want your audience to recognize you and interact with you.

Keep Your Profile Updated and Complete

Social media networks are always changing so a complete profile today will be incomplete tomorrow. Keep it up-to-date by checking it often, updating the things you have changed, and adding in information as the platform creates new ways for you to share.

Be Consistent with Your Posts

One of the keys to making social media work for you to build your online presence, is putting up regular posts and updates. For example, if you have a blog post you want to share, set it up to share twice in the day instead of only once.

Become an Expert on One or Two Platforms

You can't be everyplace and do it well, so choose one or two platforms where your audience likes to hang out, and become an expert at those systems. You'll do yourself a huge favor. Take it easy and become an expert of one or two.

Develop Content Specific for Each Platform

You don't want to rehash the exact same content in the exact same words on each social media network. For example, when you share a blog post you wrote promoting your widget, you want to share it with a special blurb for each different network.

Engage with Others

Don't forget to talk to people on each network. Answer questions, share your knowledge, and interact and engage with them. Social media is supposed to be social. Automation is fine, but you do need to answer people and talk to people in real time, too.

Share Other People's Updates

When someone shares something important that your audience will find interesting, share it. The people you share and congratulate and interact with will do the same for you. Plus, it's another form of content that can help establish expertise.

Join Groups

Most social media networks right now have some forms of groups that you can join. Even Pinterest has group pin boards that you can join. Joining these, then interacting with the people, is a great way to network and get known better.

Although everything about Facebook isn't perfect, it's still the biggest social network and they want you to succeed using their advertising platform. This just makes sense. If you achieve your business goals while spending money on Facebook advertising, you're likely to use that marketing practice again in the future. How to Do Marketing With a Low Budget

Marketing your business online inexpensively is a real possibility. You can practically market your business for free if you know what to do.

Content Marketing

This is one of your most important marketing weapons in your arsenal. In fact, you'll use content for all types of marketing including every inexpensive way mentioned below. Content is needed that sells, educates, engages, informs and excites. You need content for all aspects of marketing - up to and including customer relations.

Social Media

Social media like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram all have a place in your online marketing endeavours. Well, they might. You have to determine which social media networks will work for you and it will depend on your niche and your audience. Where do they hang out? Be there.

Blog Often

Blogging is a big source of traffic and in some instances the only source of traffic for many website owners. It's a great way to get the message out to your audience while not spending much money. It can take time to get used to doing it, but writing a post a day can help gain momentum. But you also want to consider doing longer blog posts, less often, to get results.

Remember SEO

If you are not familiar with SEO (search engine optimization), it's important to learn. SEO changes constantly and is how you optimize your website for search engines. There is both on-page and off-page SEO that you can do for your business.

Perfect Your Website

Your website is your storefront, and even if you have a bricks and mortar storefront, your website is the storefront your customers will likely see first. If it doesn't look great, why would anyone purchase from you?

Join Relevant Communities

Communities are a great way to get your name out there. There are communities you can join on Facebook and LinkedIn, as well as self-hosted and owned "inner circles" and mastermind clubs that you can join. They can help you get known as an expert, as well as help you get more links to your website.

Get Listed

There are directories that are free or inexpensive that you can join to help market your business. Ensure that the directory is niche-oriented and that it is run by a reputable person so that you are listed with other reputable business owners. You don't want to be on a list that is associated with spam. Your local chamber of commerce is one such list that you can get on for the price of your membership.

Every successful entrepreneur has made mistakes in their business at some time or another. It's all part of the learning process. Although mistakes are going to happen, you can avoid a number of common marketing mistakes. Download my free checklist, The 10 Most Common Marketing Mistakes at https://jonallo.com/mistakes

How to Improve Your Content Marketing

Improving your content can grow your email list, because it gives more opportunities for your audience to sign up. Plus, you will be giving them a reason to sign up by delivering excellent content that's targeted toward their needs.

Add Multiple CTAs

Don't just put a box on the right side-bar asking for people to sign up for your newsletter. That isn't enough. Now you need to add CTAs in numerous areas to get their attention and increase sign-up rates. Put one under each post, on the right side-bar, in a lightbox and inside content with content upgrades.

Create Content Upgrades

A terrific and effective way to get more sign-ups is to be more specific by adding content upgrades to the content you offer free. You can do this within a blog post, within articles you publish on LinkedIn, and as a guest writer. A content upgrade is information that helps clarify and make the content the audience is reading more useful. For example, a free MS Excel chore chart template with an article on how to get your family to share chores would make an excellent upgrade.

Cross-Promote Your Content

When you publish content anywhere, have a plan on how you'll promote the content across all channels. This makes your content better because it looks more cohesive. For example, if you write a blog about eating less sugar, you might share recipes on Pinterest that use less sugar, and videos of recipes on Facebook that use less sugar too.

Tweak Titles

If your content is not getting clicked on, you can't get sign-ups. So, make sure your titles are compelling enough to get people to click through. Don't trick them, though. Be straightforward but clear about what's inside the content with the titles.

Remember to Add Appropriate Headers

When people read online, they need a lot more white space than when reading on paper. Add headers that tell them what's inside the next paragraph so that they can be propelled to keep reading more.

Use the Right Keywords

If you're not sure what good keywords are, study more about the proper use of keywords so that you can improve SEO. Search engine optimization is important for building your list because that's how people will find your content in a search.

Use a Lightbox Pop-Up to Gate Your Content

You don't want to turn readers away, but you do want to maximize the potential of the viewer signing up. Add a lightbox pop-up to your website so that it waits a bit, then pops up asking for a sign-up to continue reading. Make it optional so that they can X out of it if they don't want to sign up.

Deliver on Your Promises

When people do sign up, remind them of where they signed up, why they signed up, and what you will be sending them. Then deliver on those promises. More people will want to open your email messages if they find them valuable.

When you write and manage your content correctly, it will make your life easier and your business grow. To discover how the most successful online entrepreneurs plan, create and deliver great content, download my free checklist, The 5 Step Content Strategy, at https://jonallo.com/contentplan

7 Signs You're On Track To Succeed Online In 2021

Some attribute the quote "success leaves clues" to Jim Rohn and some attribute it to Tony Robbins, but whoever said it, is dead on point. Indeed, success leaves clues.

Check out any "overnight success" and you'll discover the person had been toiling in obscurity for years before he or she became an overnight success.

Radio, TV and assorted media will be all over the place "celebrating the person's "Great Success". No one bothered when the person was going hungry, driving a battered car and wearing hand-me-down clothes.

So the three thought-provoking questions I want to ask you are:

    a) How many paid courses have you registered for in the past three years?

    b) How many relevant books have you invested in?

    c) How many gurus have you reached out to?

Yes, success leaves clues. Success will not fall on your lap from above. You must ardently search and go for it. If you do you'll become an overnight success and the media will roll out their drums to celebrate your success.

To increase your chances of success, narrow your focus and set your sights single-mindedly on how to make it online because that's the way the world is going and there is no going back.

The biggest and richest companies on earth are all online businesses; not in any particular order Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft.

While it used to take companies close to hundred years to become "Multinational Corporations" with operations spanning the globe, almost all the above "digital companies" became global behemoths within 10 to 20 years.

Not only companies, but individuals are making it big online. Bloggers and information product marketers like Jon Morrow, Brian Clark, Darren Rowse, Brendon Burchard, Russell Brunson, Amy Porterfield, and Neil Patel, to name just seven, all built their eight-figure empires within a few years of striking out online.

It doesn't matter whether you're into E-Commerce, Information Marketing, Blogging, Affiliate Marketing or any combination of online businesses, the key to online success is "CONSISTENCY" and following your clearly defined strategy rather than being an opportunistic profit seeker.

Here are the seven signs you're on track to succeed online. Not in any particular order:

1. You've drawn up your "CUSTOMER AVATAR" so you're quite clear who you want to serve. Your customer avatar is the mirror image of the dream customer you'd like to serve. As you know, all customers are not born equal so being very clear on the type of customer you wish to serve puts you miles ahead of the competition. Knowing your customer avatar enables you to build a profitable "MAILING LIST". With your mailing list in place you're on a fast track to online success.

2. You've built your "DREAM 100" online influencers list and reaching out to them. Online Influencers, Experts, and Gurus make things happen online. They've figured out what works and are building and scaling their eight-figure empires. Following, learning from, and modeling their success are the shortest and fastest ways to build your own seven-figure empire to start with without reinventing the wheel.

3. You've chosen the "THREE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS" you wish to concentrate your effort on and posting consistently. New social media platforms are born nearly daily but to succeed, you must select just three based on your own objectives not on the popularity of the media. Anything more than three will spread you too thin and render you ineffective. Whether you choose any three of Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, Periscope, etc., must align with your strategy.

4. You're daily building your "CREDIBILITY AND GRAVITAS". As the Bible says, "By their fruits you'll know them." You know that people will only follow you if you have credibility and gravitas. One of the biggest credibility boosters is having a New York Times best-selling book to your name. Making it big online as you already know is not a walk through the park so day and night take steps to reinforce your credibility and gravitas.

5. You're working quietly and with full concentration on your "LEAD MAGNETS", LANDING PAGES" and "IRRESISTIBLE OFFERS". These three: lead magnets, landing pages and irresistible offers: set the stage for you to start collecting leads, converting them into subscribers, showing them the stuff you're made of and making them offers they can't do without.

6. You're learning to craft "SALES LETTERS" with great Hooks, Stories and Offers. No matter how beautiful your product, no matter how stellar your credibility, and no matter how popular you're on social media, it's your sales letters that convert subscribers into paying customers sending cash to your bank account. Learning to craft effective sales letters and pitching the right audience put you in the league of winners.

7. You're learning how to create "IRRESISTIBLE PRODUCTS" that change your dream customers' lives. As every entrepreneur knows, whether online or offline, and more so online, where you're dealing with customers sometimes six time zones away, you're in the business of transforming lives. Simply put, you're in the transformation business. The better you're able to transform people's lives, the bigger your bank account will grow. What makes transformation happen are the great products you create. Products come last in the series because you have to tailor exactly to your dream customer's identified need.

The above seven signs separate those who are on track to succeed from those who aren't.

To summarize, you've created your customer avatar, you've selected your dream 100 online influencers, you've selected the three social media platforms you wish to be king, you're burnishing your credibility and gravitas day and night, your lead magnets, landing pages, irresistible offers, and sales letters are selling your irresistible products round the clock.

To accelerate your success, you're not only making irresistible offers, you're building offer-stacks as tall as Mount Kilimanjaro and placing order bumps strategically throughout your value ladder and sales funnel. These advanced online strategies can 10X your success rate. But first you must understand the basics by being humble enough to learn.

If you're doing any three of the above you're on track to not only succeed, but succeed massively online. If you're not, retrace your steps and refocus. Narrow your focus and concentrate on the few things that will bring you success in the shortest possible time. Just keep learning and suddenly you'll reach a tipping point where everything falls into place sending you to the stratosphere of success just like the online gurus I've mentioned in this article.

It costs a lot of money, time and effort to create content for your niche. You need content for everything, and every platform and every form, and you need it on a regular basis. If you're not repurposing and reusing some of your content, you're not getting the most out of your investment.

Share more than once
Sharing new content on social media needs to be done more than once to ensure it gets maximum views. With the way social media works, on a feed system it is likely only a very small percentage of followers, or likes, will see the share more than once, or even once.

Use older content
Alternatively, if an issue comes up that the old content piece answers then go ahead and share it again, even if it's months old. It's also okay to update the content first to be more relevant if any part of the original piece is out of date. As long as the content is relevant, original, and makes sense at that time, share away.

Use Multiple Platforms
You probably are part of many different online communities and networks - Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook groups, forums, groups and so forth. Make sure to take advantage of this fact. If you find a fresh way to share the same content throughout all these platforms then you can share the same content.

Edit for network personality
The important thing to do here is to be sure to craft each message a little differently for each network. For example, you might want to share the content in a more visual way on Pinterest than you do on Twitter.

Use different formats
A blog post becomes a slide share, becomes a video for YouTube, and becomes a podcast for iTunes. It really is that simple to reuse your content. After all, the format doesn't change the research you've already done. You're just changing the format and sometimes the mood of the research to participate on multiple platforms.

When you write and manage your content correctly, it will make your life easier and your business grow. To discover how the most successful online entrepreneurs plan, create and deliver great content, download my free checklist, The 5 Step Content Strategy, at https://jonallo.com/contentplan

How to Increase the Value of Your Business

There are many ways to boost your sales and grow your business, no matter your budget size. However, increasing the value of your business on a tight budget can be daunting. Because it is challenging to boost your sales while keeping advertising and marketing under control.

It's easy to open a business online and start selling. Hence, there are numerous of products online and so there are many competitors offering the same products and services you're offering.

The difference between the competitor's business and yours will determine how the customer perceives your value. You obviously want potential customers to see the immediate value you offer in all the different areas of your business.

Focus on the Value You Offer

Potential clients care about whether you can help them. Your marketing strategy should focus on clients' problems, as well as helping to solve the issues. For instance, if you're selling a weight loss product; focus on providing better health, feeling sexy, and increasing energy rather than the product. People like things that make them feel or look better.

Thus, all marketing efforts from email messages and social media engagement should focus on offering what clients want or need. You should focus on how your products or services solve customer problems. Providing valuable products to your clients will lead them to share these products with their friends and family, promoting your business. This will lead to more sales and it will increase the value of your business.

Use Different Methods to Reach Your Target Market

Not everyone on your email list follows you on Twitter or Facebook. Be where your customers are, whether it's on YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, or Facebook.

Integrate your content into different formats that will allow you to reach your clients across different social media platforms without duplicating the same stuff. For instance, you can turn a YouTube video into a how-to article for your website.

Share User-Generated Content

Consumers prefer to read product reviews before making crucial buying decisions. Highlighting reviews helps to ease any anxiety about taking a perceived risk. The more detailed reviews you have, the more trust you build and the more valuable your business and offers will seem.

These reviews are experiences and opinions from other buyers, and they lead a consumer to decide on whether to buy a product. Boost your sales and the value of your business by asking your customers to share their photos online. Sharing user-generated photos on your social media platforms will boost loyalty with current customers and it'll add credibility to your brand whenever potential clients visit your social media profiles.

If you have a limited budget, smart branding is perhaps the most inexpensive business growth tool you can create. Branding is important for small business owners as well as large ones. 13 Social Media Trends and Opportunities for 2021

Everything You Need to Know About Social Media Marketing Trends Today!

The social media world has exploded with activity, and social media trends of 2021 have shifted since the COVID pandemic onslaught. Sure, it's exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. You need to know how these shifts affect your business and how to capitalize on them to improve your marketing strategy.

So, we're making a foray into the digital world to help you understand the social media trends and opportunities for 2021. Let's get at it!

1. Make a Connection with Live Streaming

Humans need to stay connected for personal and business reasons. When they can't do that face-to-face, technology is more than happy to step in and bridge the gap. Luckily, social media new trends have come to the rescue during this pandemic. Live streaming, a popular medium that only grew stronger in 2020, will continue to play a significant role in 2021.

People have become used to learning and exploring in live streams as they reach out to satisfy their need for social contact and engagement. So, one of our top tips based on social media trends for business in 2021...

Go live on social media at least once a week! And be sure to include a call to action that sells your audience something valuable at the end.

2. Give Away Something for Free

One of the most valuable outcomes of maintaining a social media presence besides nurturing relationships is list building. When you post on social media, you can use your call to action to build your list. Free offers help facilitate this process. Selling something valuable doesn't always mean a money exchange. Your list is gold - your treasure chest of potential new customers and sales.

People will exchange their contact information to obtain something they value. For instance, some folks don't have the time to read every word of your blog posts. A good blog article summary, or access to a hidden page on your site that provides summaries for your most significant blog posts, could appeal to some of your prospects.

Other free offers could include the following:
  • Access to slides from a conference
  • In-depth guides and tutorials
  • Behind-the-scenes glimpses
  • Free reports
  • And more

3. Showcase Your Brand Personality with Video

Good news! There's still plenty of room to build your online presence, attract an audience, and build loyalty with videos. And before you say, "Really? Isn't the YouTube market saturated?", think again.

Yes, it's true. YouTube has grown exponentially and remains the top channel for video. But the doors are open for branding through personality-driven content. Your unique personality-how you communicate with your audience differentiates you and helps you stand out. So, be authentic, be you, and have fun! Use videos to find and grow your tribe!

And don't stop with YouTube. Carve out your niche on other video channels. Here's a list to get you started!
  • IGTV
  • Instagram Reels
  • Twitter Fleets - NEW in 2021!
  • Facebook
  • Pinterest
  • TikTok
  • Snapchat

4. Stand Out on LinkedIn and Instagram with Carousels

Let's continue to roll on into 2021 social media trends in marketing with engaging, movement-focused content ideas! Why settle for static LinkedIn posts when you can jazz things up with carousels? That's right! You can create and publish entertaining slide shows! These allow you to stand out in the sea of text-based LinkedIn posts and build awareness for your company page.

Not to be confused with LinkedIn carousel ads, you publish carousel posts for free. These posts draw attention and generate interest in eye-catching, dynamic visual displays that take up more real estate in a feed. So be sure to include a clear call to action at the end!

Plus, Instagram users get a huge benefit by using carousels in their feed. If a user doesn't like the lead image and scrolls past it, the second image displays on their feed. That gives you a second chance to gain engagement.

Ideas for Content to Share in LinkedIn Carousel Posts
  • Statistics, infographics, and numbers
  • Frameworks and step-by-step, how-to instructions
  • Actionable business tips and lessons
  • Conference slides and event content
  • Snippets from your blog/listicle post

5. Emails & E-news Are Still Tried and True Methods

Let your audience know when you post something new: "This blog is going viral right now!" Yes, emails and e-news are still some of the best ways to grab attention for your articles and blog posts. So, keep growing that list! Then use social media to highlight the content your audience craves.

To gain permission-based subscriber list opt-ins, use creative calls to action (CTAs) that encourage your prospect to trade their contact information for the tips, how-to instructions, and entertainment they value.

With so many new social media trends, it can be tricky figuring out how to maximize their impact. Knowing that these social media trends for business exist and knowing how to use them to augment your strategy are two distinct concepts!

Let's go over some of the ways you can use social media marketing for your business!

6. Using Links vs. Audio-Visual Content

Whenever possible, use video, images, and audio to snag attention within social media platforms rather than redirecting them to your published content. Social channels want to keep people there where they can influence them with advertisers' campaigns.

Of course, you want them to get to your content, sign up for your free giveaways, and more. Here's a simple social media trends 2021 strategy: Try using the first comment under your post to post your link!

7. Engage with Your Tribe through Social Media Comments

Respond to comments on your social media content in a timely fashion. If people take the time to engage with you on social media, doesn't it make sense to well keep them engaged? That is the point, after all!

Don't allow comments on your posts to sit unattended. When you leave your prospects languishing, you risk losing their attention altogether. If you engage with them, this encourages future engagements which lead to relationships, trust, and sales!

8. It's All About the Timing

Traffic for your social media post depends on the first 10 minutes of the hour you post the content. Tag people and get the word out to increase traffic flow, especially if it's a live-streaming event. If you conduct a live stream every week, do it on the same day at the same time every week. That way, your audience can schedule it into their activities.

Are you presenting a one-off live stream? Get the word out multiple times in advance through various channels. Post your event details ahead of time via emails, e-newsletters, and posts. If you have connections with people who support your efforts, maximize those relationships and ask them to spread the word.

9. The Power of Social Media Comments & Bookmarks

One of your responsibilities to your audience is to curate helpful content. Whatever your industry, your audience looks to you for guidance, expertise, and resources. You can't create it all, so you need to find reputable sources for content to share. Social bookmarking sites provide the means to do just that!

And as social media platforms toy with the idea of doing away with likes (e.g., Facebook, Instagram), people need to find other ways to indicate their approval of the posts they enjoyed or found helpful.

Arguably, Instagram is one of the most popular visual-centric social media trends for business and has become increasingly influential in marketing. To build brand awareness, encourage people to save your Instagram posts (instead of merely "liking" them). Use a call to action in your image and text. A simple "Bookmark this!" could be the ticket.

How else can your business benefit from these saves?

7 Benefits of Social Media Bookmarks
  • Save and organize resources you want to focus on at a later time.
  • Share resources with your team or audience.
  • Tag (label) content for easier referencing and searchability.
  • Build backlinks from social media bookmarks to your website.
  • Drive traffic to your website. (People find and click on content others have saved to their bookmarking sites.)
  • Promote mentions you receive from others (bookmark articles that mention you and your content).
  • Take advantage of SEO. (Search engines often bring up bookmarks in their search results.)

10. Ask Questions to Encourage Engagement on Social Media Posts

Want to encourage discussions and engagement on social media? To open the door for communication, remember the power of the question. Make it interesting. It would help if you posed a provocative question that leads people to want to share their thoughts. A vague "yes/no" question like "Agree?" doesn't spark discussion.

Examples of Discussion-Encouraging Questions
  • I'm curious. Do you have a story to share about your experiences with _____? (Fill in the blank.)
  • How have you benefited from ________? (Fill in the blank.)
  • When was the last time you _________? (Fill in the blank.)
  • What's your favorite memory of ________? (Fill in the blank.)
  • Do you think there's a chance that _______? What leads you to that conclusion? (Fill in the blank.)

11. Ego Bait

I know... that's a pretty loaded term. But think about it. Influencers and industry leaders enjoy the spotlight. If they didn't, they wouldn't be influencers. Tag one or more influencers in your post and ask them to share.

12. Social Media Commerce

Social media has become increasingly more influential in consumer shopping choices. And some platforms have capitalized on this new social media trend by introducing shopping carts. Your customers can investigate and buy your products and services without ever leaving the social media platform.

Again, social media platforms want users to stay on them for as long as possible. Feel free to take advantage of the tools they offer. It's a win-win for you and the platform.

13. Humanized Brands-The Power of Authenticity

And, finally, you may have noticed this growing trend. People value transparency and authenticity in their relationships-and that ideal is spreading to how they feel about the brands they support.

The social media marketing trends of 2021 predictions from the pros indicate that your audience wants to know who you are and what you stand for. And businesses that align themselves with socially conscious themes are viewed more favourably by their customers.

Lean into yourself and let your light shine. Tell your stories. You are who you are, and there's a tribe out there waiting to meet and support you and your business!

How Do You Sell Digital Products?

Promoting and selling digital products requires getting your product in front of your audience. It's a lot easier to make a sale when your ideal customer feels as if they just discovered the holy grail because you put it right in front of them so they could not miss it.

Your Website and Blog

Everything starts with your blog or website. It's not a good idea to send people someplace else to make a purchase from you unless you're making money from an affiliate sale.

Social Media Marketing

In addition to a blog, promote everything you offer on each of the social media platforms that your audience uses. Every post you make, every sale you have, every story you can relate to, and so forth should be shared on social media. Also, add sharing buttons to your email marketing messages and blog posts.

Content Marketing

Write blog posts, guest posts, and how-to articles. Make videos all about your product. What problems does your product solve? Create content about the problem so you can educate your audience about it, then offer them the solution too.

Paid Advertisements

Don't ignore paid ads. They work. Do try to get everything else in place before running a paid advertisement. You need a good landing page, check-out process and so forth to make this worth it.

Influencer Marketing

Once you have your product ready, find some social media influencers to take up your cause. You can pay them, or you can find some who will work for a percentage of sales using an affiliate link. An influencer will simply talk about your product, maybe blog about it, and give their honest thoughts about it.

Affiliate Marketing

This is why your choice of shopping cart tech is so important. If you're selling digital products, you need an affiliate program to make more money. Paying an affiliate half of the price of the product is a small price to pay to get more sales when the product is fully digital.

Creating More Landing Pages

Studies show that having more landing pages is better than having fewer. Create dedicated landing pages for every freebie you have, even your email list subscription, and potentially affiliate products too. This can look like a blog post or a page, but it should be fully dedicated to only one product per page.

Free Trials

Depending on the type of digital product you sell, free trials may work wonders. This is useful for apps, software, and plugins. You may want to offer an example of what your other products look like by creating some freebies that show what you do.

Being a Mumpreneur Vs Being an Entrepreneur

Besides having a screaming toddler clinging to her while she types up a business proposal, a Mumpreneur is quite a different creature from a typical entrepreneur. I have received my fair share of snickers and stifled laughter when I introduce myself as a Mumpreneur. In Asia, this new 'corporate organism' is still a fairly new concept for many business people. I attend courses and workshops that teach entrepreneurship. I network with entrepreneurs for business opportunities. I even partner with entrepreneurs on selected business ventures. (And no! They don't bring along their daughters/ sons for our business meetings.)

But always at the back of my mind, I know being a Mumpreneur puts me in a different spot. A separate category of its own, which I have come to embrace for its advantages

For one, I get to have a "Daughter Day" every 2 weeks. That's time I set aside for my 2-year-old. I am not afraid to announce it to my business partners, who seem both envious and amused. I celebrate work-family balance as a Mumpreneur and 4 working days (out of 22) is a fair ratio to devote to family. On 'Daughter Day', I don't take calls; don't answer emails nor attend business meetings. Most business contacts accept and respect that decision (since I am a MUMpreneur) and usually work around my schedule.

Mumpreneurs also get the chance to put pictures of their own children on their site/ blog/ Twitter page, without compromising on a professional image. Instead, if used in the correct context, personal sharing of certain information stands to help. One of the Mumpreneurs I support sells organic skincare products for children. Her 4-year old daughter is the "face" of her product. As she conducts her outreach programme to schools in Singapore, she is acutely aware that her own trust and belief in the product's benefits have greatly helped her to convince potential buyers. Her own daughter is the best testimonial of the product's benefits.

Ever since jumping on the Mumpreneur bandwagon, I have come to observe and appreciate the growing Mumpreneurs' network on cyberspace. A simple Google search will prove my point. Facebook pages of Mumpreneurs who add each other as fans or friends are evidence of a group determined to be pillars of support for one another. Instead of the usual competition that one sees with entrepreneurs, there seems to be an unspoken desire to help each other succeed. (And no, they don't accept Dads in these networks.)

Most of all, being a Mumpreneur means that we have to be creative. Entrepreneurs need creativity in designing business solutions. Mumpreneurs need to be creative with the business model, with our time, with our goals and with our skills. Not all mothers set up online or home businesses based on the skills they have. In fact, quite a large number turn to new businesses that they had no previous contact with. Accountants with an online bakery, PR consultants turned jewellery designers, Doctors who design and sew baby shoes, Lawyers with a newfound passion in hat making. (Etsy.com has its fair share of such talent)

Creativity with Time-management is critical for Mumpreneurs, as we no longer have an excuse. "Please mind Sarah, I need to work overtime" won't go down well with the husbands, since our business was started (in the first place) so we could have a work-family balance.

Last but not least, Mumpreneurs are fuelled by a different set of dreams and goals. Most of us do not design a business that can be sold off, that can obtain funding from a bank or be considered by venture capitalists. Most mothers who choose to be a Mumpreneur do so because they want more flexible time with their children. Profits are important, but unlike other entrepreneurs, it's the maternal love that started the business, propels it forward and keeps it going. And therein, lies all the difference.

The author is the founder of "Mums@Work" (Singapore), a portal for mothers who seek work-family balance through flexible work options or setting up small businesses. She conducts workshops on career coaching and Mumpreneur businesses. For more information, you can visit http://www.mumsatwork.net

How to Use Facebook Live for Marketing

There are so many ways to use Facebook Live to market your business. As you read these ideas, it's likely you'll think of even more ways. When you do think of ideas, write them down in a file so that you can try them out.

Host a Customer Contest

Go live and then invite your customers to go live in your group or on your page. Tell them you want to hear about how they use your product or service, and what a difference it's made for them in their lives or business. This is a great way to get testimonials that can even go viral. Whichever live gets the most likes, wins.

Host a Round Table with a Panel of Experts

Bring in some experts about your topic and host a round table. Allow viewers to submit questions in advance so that even those who watch the recorded version can get their question in. Then let the panel offer their advice on the question. You can have many questions or just one question, weekly or monthly.

Host an Open Question Hour

You can go live at any moment and let people ask questions while you're live. You can give your people a warning via email and announcement or by scheduling the Facebook Live, but you can also do them last minute.

Create Private Content for Your Group

An effective way to use Facebook Live is to create content only for your private group. Announce it on your page, market it through your email lists, and blog - but require them to join the group or membership to get the content. You can even make this another income stream.

Share a Day in the Life

You get four hours to stream, so you can host a working session where you work live while everyone can watch. You can talk about what you're doing, share with them how you do what you do, share your screen, demo what you're doing and so forth during the live stream.

Host an Open Live Critique Hour

This will work for many different niches, marketing experts, content experts, logo designers, coaches, and so forth. Invite people to be in the hot seat and get critiqued for something that you can normally fix if they hire you.

Conduct Regular Training

You can train people how to do things via Facebook Live. It doesn't matter if it's knitting, creating spreadsheets, cutting hair, doing makeup, or cooking. Think about the things you know how to do that's relevant to your audience, and show them how to do it.

Facebook users watch 100 million hours of videos on FB every day. Live video streaming connects with your audience in a way that text, images and recorded video can't. For proven tips for successful live video marketing download my free checklist at https://jonallo.com/live-video

How to Create a Social Media Friendly Business Logo

In today's market, social media is an undeniably important part of any business's marketing strategy. It is important to create a business logo that works well across different social platforms. There are many logo generators available online these days that allow you to create a professional-looking logo design but it doesn't end with just a good looking logo, you have to consider a lot more while finalizing a business logo. It should be captivating enough to look sharp and attractive on different social mediums.

We have listed out some tips below to help you make the most out of social media platforms through your business logo:

Be Mindful of Your Aspect Ratio:

Aspect ratios are important when it comes to images on social media. Your logo shouldn't be too short or too long. There are different aspect ratios for every social platform and it is important that your image is scaled accordingly. Most social media sites show your images or logos in a square. Your logo should be optimized to look good in a square beforehand because if it isn't, then the image will be compressed, chipped or reduced to fit into one.

Keeping Different Versions of Your Logo:

There are chances that every logo gets used in many different ways. Some change it up a little according to different season or events while some make a shortened version with just the image or an initial. You really can't tell how your business logo may be used so you need it to be versatile and adaptable. You might need to rearrange or use just a portion of your logo to fit into different sizes and shapes. In some cases, it is almost impossible to use your full logo which is why you have to settle for a different version of your logo for social media applications. It is important that your text and graphics don't lose their meanings when used separately.

Simplicity is the Key:

Avoiding detailed elements in your logo is also very important. We are not saying that you should go so simple that you risk being forgettable but bear in mind that your logo will be reproduced in different sizes and it should lose its meaning or impact when reduced in size. Thin lines, detailed graphics, and too many words are to be avoided. Try to keep it simple because a noisy business logo can confuse your consumers and often fails to communicate your message in a social media thumbnail.

Consistency:

Consistency strengthens your brand power and its visibility. People recognize you better when you have the same image everywhere for your business. The majority of brands create one simplified version of their business logo and use the same image across every social media platform.

These are a few of the things you should bear in mind so that your business logo does well across the most powerful form of marketing these days i.e. Social Media Marketing.

Importance of Followers and Fans on Social Media Platforms

In recent times, social media platforms have taken the market by storm. Not one or two, but there are several platforms where one can post their creative ideas like pictures and videos. Also one can follow various people there if one likes their content. Seeing that these platforms have millions and billions of users and out of the 70% of the users are regular ones, these spaces have turned into a great channel for marketing and advertising. However, it is not enough to just have great content one also will have to increase their fan following.

Who are fans and followers?

People who use a certain platform not only post their content, but also look for other people's content with whom they can connect. So when these people start following their favorite accounts religiously, they become a follower and a fan.

Just like marketing happens in the real world, one will need more fans and potential customers to follow them on social media so that they can be converted into customers. That is why it is seen that fans play the most crucial role In making or breaking an account and their creator's social media influence. These fans will only become loyal supporters, chain marketers, and customers for their followed people and business accounts.

Why followers and fans are so important?

Having a huge following on social media is important because:

  • Make the brand popular: one can use social media to promote their brand, whether it is any product, service or thought. Having a huge number of followers means they can reach out to their fans and establish their offering to them.

  • Create a community: many times it is not about just marketing or advertising, sometimes it is about reaching out to like-minded people. Social media can be a great platform for finding people like oneself and also it becomes easy to say what one wants and it will reach people easily.

  • Increase the influence: every brand or a social media influencer needs to spread their business and for that followers and fans are the best way to go about. Usually, these fans and followers only become marketers thus spreading the brand more effectively.

Why buy fans and followers?

Now that one has noticed how much followers and fans can affect one's social media presence, whether it is an individual or a business. Therefore, other than some of the organic ways one can also buy followers for their account. Some of the benefits of buying social media fans are:

  • One can grow their business instantly without having to wait for a longer period of time.

  • Followers attract followers, so if one has a strong number of followers on their profile this will show the popularity and effectiveness of one's products and thus will attract more followers.

  • Having more followers will influence people to visit one's website, thus increasing the website traffic.

  • Having more followers means more visibility and that means more customers, all this will lead to higher revenue.

  • A large number of followers will also make one look more credible and thus will give a boost to one account among other competitors.

Buying fans can be a very advantageous step for all social media people. Just like others, one can also buy tiktok fans from the tiktok star at very reasonable prices. This will help one in increasing their tiktok presence and thus make one's video go more viral.
